Hochheim am Main can be explored in many ways. Whether by bicycle or by walking, on your own or as part of a group: we will present the possibilities for relaxing outdoor activies.
The area-park is a facility sustained by several communities. It includes already existing and lately prepared routes giving access to our local nature, plantations of trees and bushes, protected and unspoilt spots. In addition there are observation towers and platforms, playgrounds for children and reconstructions of historic buildings – all to be discovered in our common park-unity, either by walking or bicycle along the area-park-route.
This area-park-route within Hochheim’s district and those of neighbouring communities is a highly appreciated attraction and used by numerous visitors living in the Rhein-Main-district
Pilgrimage along the route of Saint Boniface
Route of Saint Boniface
Hochheim am Main is situated on the route of Saint Boniface – a new pilgrimage route, tracing the funeral cortege which took place in 754 AD, when the mortal remains of Saint Boniface had been transported from Mainz to Fulda - the Saint‘s final destination for burrial. According to written reports from medieval times, this funeral cortege passed along Hochheim am Main.
The route is marked by little signs showing the logo of the association „route of Saint Boniface e.V.“.
